What are the best sports glasses for someone
with Lazy Eye and wanting eye protection?
Question from Steven Van overbeke
Okay so here is a question for people. I have a lazy eye that w/ glasses can see 20/40 and can see almost perfectly out of my right eye with 20/30 w/out glasses . My question for people is this. I want to get back into sports and was wondering what is the best type of glasses/protective eye ware for an action sport like Martial Arts because i need to be able to protect my eyes as much as possible in Martial Arts even if I don’t do it competitively

Glasses from Lenscrafters?
Question from Xoe
I lost my glasses today… bummer! So, I need to buy new ones ASAP.
Lenscrafters have a 30% discount right now… I’ve never bought my glasses before (insurance company did). I’m wondering if I will be paying too much at Lenscrafters. Good thing is that I can get my glasses on the same day.
This is the cost:
1. $59 for eye examination
2. $179 for frames (very nice frames that I loooved!)
3. $190 for FeatherWates® Complete Lens. I asked why the lenses were so expensive. They said they offer the following:
and easy to clean
Reduces reflections
Reduces reflected light
during night driving
Reduces eye strain
when using computer
Durable and
scratch resistant
Thin and light
Safest and most
impact resistant*
Protects during sports
and outdoor activities
Full UV Protection
Total cost: $428!!!!!
However, with a 30% discount, they will come up to $301 Total.
Question: Is $301 a good price to pay?
I live in the LA area. I’m sure there are more optometrists I can visit, but I need them ASAP. The first price was too expensive, but with a 30% discount, it seems better. What do you think? Should I go somewhere else?

OMG! $301.00 is a great price! mine were over $400.00. I would go for it especially if you like the frame!
How can I convince my parents and grandparents
to buy me a dirt bike?
Question from !ishawtyi!$☺☻♥♦♣♠•◘○§▒àΦ
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS! I am 11 years of age and I have three four-wheelers. One (my old four wheeler) is an old Kawasaki 50. The best one (which is my brothers) is a wolverine 350 (he is 14 and is big for his age almost as big as my dad). Then my present four-wheeler, a DS Can-Am 250. It is almost as fast on straight paths (such as a road) as my brothers wolverine 350. But anyways, I have gear like a helmet (certified by DOT), eye protection (also certified), and a chest protector. I don’t have those dirt-biking boots like a lot of other people. I have ridden a dirt-bike before at my ex-boyfriends house. We are still friends, too and I am looking to buy the same dirt-bike as he, its a Baja Motor-sports little dirt-bike. The link to it is:
http://www.tractorsupply.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay_10551_10001_129464_-1______?rFlag=true&cFlag=1
I have done some research on it. Just not a lot. I think I might have to build back some trust with like everyone. So it is a 70 cc but goes really fast so they should be tricked ’cause it runs like a 125 cc. But the strange thing is that is is a 4-stroke. If I even talk about getting a dirt-bike to my father he always gets kinda mad. So I think he will really need some time to convince. If I get my mom convinced (I really need to re-build my trust with her) she might be able to talk to my dad and to convince even considering getting me a dirt-bike. I don’t want to go slow but I will around them and go fast in the back. My grand-parents are really worried about me even on my four-wheeler. I never crashed or anything on it, either. So I’m pretty safe which I would be on the dirt-bike, too. Oh, only this one time,,, my dads friend came over with his mo-ped. I was going really fast and stuff and there were two cars like 40 feet from me and I didn’t know what to do cuz I knew I would crash into one of them. So I just kinda stopped and I slid. It didn’t really hurt much, but I’m pretty sure my father remembers that. But you have to admit, my choice was way better than crashing into the car.
So some of the questions are:
1.)How am I to re-build my trust with my parents?
2.) After I re-build my trust with my parents, how am I to convince them to buy me a dirt-bike?
3.) How am I to convince my grand-parents (which would be the people to buy me the dirt-bike) to buy me a dirt-bike?

Best hard range case for pistols?
Question from scott h
I am looking for a hard case to take to the range, with room for targets, ear & eye protection, extra magazines, ammo, cleaners and cloths. so far the selection has been not so great, it would be nice to be able to carry both pistols in one case (and all of the extra stuff), but after going to some outdoor sporting stores here in town I began to look online but most of the cases are going to be too small or they cost too much. If it helps we have a glock 21&30 any ideas would be wonderful. I have gone to pelican, storm case and a bunch of others. PLEASE HELP!

The best cases are made by Pelican. They are not cheap but you asked for the best not the cheapest. Take a look at this site www.pelican.com.
My parents wont let me have a Paintball gun/marker?
Question from ledzeppelin1993
Paintball is the new thing with my freinds and my freind is making a paintball arena is his huge backyard and i asked my parents if i could get a paintball gun and they keep on saying NO. But of course all my freinds get to get the gun and i have to miss out on all the fun. Last year my freinds gotr air soft guns and my parents obviously said no so they stopped playing it. But paintball isnt even dangerous and my parents think im going to loose my eye. How is that possible when your wearing googles and chest, arm and leg protection all over you. And ive gone to all the local paint ball stores and getting alot of information on the sport and im telling my parents to come look with me but they wont and i dont even know why. I meen they seell paintball guns and supplies at wal mart like at a KID FREINDLY store.
I need to convince my parents really badly to get me one for my birthday which is in a couple of weeks and ive tried everything and im runing out of ideas can someone HELP ME!
the paint ball guns are on SALE at the store so that means there CHEAPER and plus im want one for my birthday. whats so bad about a birthday present?and i dont want to shoot up schools and in canada that never happens so go figure paintball is a safe sport with the proper protection.
Answer from chillypowder
I got one for my son for his eleventh birthday, he loves it and we play together all the time. When played properly with the right equiptment it is very safe. Safer than most sports. Just have them set down rules. My son cannot use it or play around with it unless we are playing together or he is with another responsible adult. It is not a toy so I do not let him keep it in his room where he has access to it when I am not around. By giving children more responsibility, it shows trust and encourages them to be responsble when their parents aren’t around. Show your parents that you can be responsible and maybe they will let you get one. How well do you do in school? Maybe offer to get better grades and do it. Help out more. Don’t get into trouble. By doing these things it will show your pparents that you are growing up and deserve more privledges.

Cheap sunglasses are bad for your eyes?
Question:
I’ve heard it many times in the past, but usually from the kid with the trust fund, or sports promotions contract from oakley, or the rich/divorced/workaholic dad, who always got the cool toys.
So, it makes sense that wearing some sort of tinted eye protection in general would help block out UV rays, especially in this day and age of SPF 95.
So, are my cheap Dollar-store sunglasses, meant mostly for comfort, actually worse for my eyes than no sunglasses at all?
What if I splurged on the $20 pair at the variety store, and made a mental note to avoid accidentally sitting on them for the next month?
The question is, are cheap sunglasses BAD-bad for my eyes, or are they just drastically inferior to those authentic Ray Bans or Oakleys or Guccis in terms of protection, but still better than nothing at all?

What kind of eye protection is there for sports?
scott sankhi asked:
How do manufacturers customize eyewear for sports to prevent injuries? I mean like what kind of materials do they use for the frames and lenses?
Thanks
Sites would be helpful also.

goggles. eye glasses are made not to shatter. i like the titanium frames that have a memory. you can twist them into a knot and they will go back as they should. the lenses is polycarbonate.
