What are some good hair masks to help repair overworked hair?
Question from Skittles
I use a lot of irons and blow-dryers(don’t judge!) and my hair is very overworked. I am going to continue using heat on my hair so don’t tell me that I need to stop because I already know it’s bad for my hair. All I want to know are some good hair masks that I can make at home that can help repair my hair.
Such as vinegar helps with the shine
I want to be able to make them at home. Much appreciated!

What are prosthetic masks made of and how are they manufactured?
Question from Helen R N
Any Information prosthetic masks will be great. Im doing a study on them for my A Levels. Any ones personal view on how efficient they are as a prop in industry will also be great, like are the comfortable, are they strong enough, easy to use etc
Thanks for any help
Response from ►уєѕι∂◄ ★яσ¢кѕтαяѕ★
The word prosthetic also refers to devices worn to solve a medical problem, but I will guess you want theater and movie makeup. The making depends on how mobile the mask has to be. The more mobile, the closer it has to fit the actor’s face and the more uncomfortable it is likely to be. The first step is to mold the actor’s face, normally using a fairly costly flexible gel (moulage) that melts just above body temp so it is not painful on the face (plaster gets hotter and hotter as it sets) This is reinforced and a model of the actor’s face is made, usually in plaster.
Two or more may be made. One is used to build up the design for the mask, which may be done in clay. If this method is used, a second mold is made of the outside and the original of the head is used with it to make a foam model of the space between the two. This becomes the basis for the mask after trimming and adding coloring, hair, etc.
It is also possible to build the mask in foam pieces and latex on the actor’s model and a mold can be pulled from that after it is tested.
Any makeup from a build out of a brow to a full mask must be glued to the actor’s skin in appropriate places and makeup applied to blend the edges. This may take several hours especially for closeup work.
If the mask is used in rough and tumble scenes or just barely alters the face, it will probably be damaged or torn in removal and a new one will have made for everyday of shooting. When I made pieces for my own use in college theater where beards and noses were observed from 6-8 feet away by the audience, the thin edge was rebuilt with latex for each performance and trimmed after, being covered with makeup.
The mask is usually impermeable to sweat and if thick holds heat and the adhesive often itches, so can be very uncomfortable. As with costuming when going from rehearsal casual to meticulously fitted out authentic clothes, the effect on the actor and fellow actors can be astounding. And I did a couple of roles where my friends in the audience KNEW I was on stage and only by a process of elimination of less made up people did they decide the old man had to be me. Fun.
What fly masks stop on the best and
offer the best protection for a horse on summer turnout?
!Aimee! asked:
My cob seems to be plagued by flys rounds his eyes, i spray/slather him in no end of lotions and potions but nothing seems to offer him the protection he needs. I have just bought a roma lycra fly mask for my dads Section D by it is’t big enough for my horse (the biggest size they offer) and he hates it because you have to pull i over his nose to put on. I just wondered what masks you have used and what you rate them, oh i have already tried a velcrow one…… he ditched it!! : (
Answer from alltackedupsaddles
try the farnam or the horse sense fly masks. the horse sense ones have velcro but there are 2 straps. they have 3 different styles to choose from hopefully one will work for you. you can cover his face with all the wipe on fly repellent you can buy but you cant get that close to their eyes with that stuff so your best bet is to keep searching for the style you can find that he will keep on! try arab/yearling size if you go with the horse sense brand there horse size runs really big! i own a saddle and tack store in norco,ca and carry the horse sense i also carry a no name brand style with the fllece lining around the nose and ears and personally use those on my daughters ponys and they will pull them off each other but they fit and they hold up, you just gotta go put them back on if they get them off! oh and the velcro is a good idea for safety reasons if they get caught on something you want that mask to go instead of keeping them hung up ya know! if you have any questions you can contact me via e-mail or call all tacked up @ 951-272-1243 ask for andrea

Does anyone have good sites for masks or any homemade recipes for masks? if so plz answer the question.

Egg yolk mask.
Good for smoothing out wrinkles and acne scars.
Spread the egg yolk liberally on face and peel off after it is completely dry. Try not to get in hair, becomes messy. This mask is pretty messy and doesn’t peel off perfectly. I always peel with a little bowl under me to collect the peelings in. But it does wonders for your face. You can also wash off, but that’s a little slimy, although neater.
What are some tips to hide eye openings in latex masks?
Question from zgirl22
I have a handbook on how to make a latex mask from start to finish, but it doesn’t go into specifics regarding how to conceal vision and nose holes for masks that have painted eyeballs and don’t allow for traditional eye openings. I want to know how they do this on really expensive masks like the deluxe yoda mask with very well concealed eye openings. Some masks I can’t even tell where the hidden vision spaces are! How is this effect achieved?
Response by dougeebear
Sometimes the eyes are painted fabric which, from the inside, can be seen through. I think however that what you’re referring to is the art of the sculpt. Vision holes are small slits and are often concealed above the sculpted eye in the fold where the eyelid should be or in the shadows under the brow ridge.
How do people get masquerade masks to stay on?
Nicole asked:
I was thinking about collecting masquerade masks for the fun of it, but I was wondering: How DO they keep them on?
I mean, sometimes it doesn’t look like it’s tied on and sometimes it’s not on a stick to hold up to your face. I was wondering if there was some other way that people used to keep them on or if it was always one of those two.
Response by Kanye West
there is usually a stick sticking out at the bottom of the mask that they hold, or they just hold the mask up to their face. *no string to tie on the back of the head…*

Body Scrubs
Sugar Scrub Recipe: Avocado and Almond
Ingredients for this scrub include raw avocado, and would therefore not make an ideal gift as it could not be stored. In order to present this as a gift, one could put together the dry ingredients (and the oil) with instructions on how to add the avocado at a later stage.
•1 Cup Brown Sugar
•2 Tablespoons of mashed avocado
•Dash of apricot oil (not too much, as the mixture will dissolve if too wet)
•Dash of honey
Place the sugar into a bowl, adding the avocado and apricot oil slowly. Keep an eye on the consistency as you add them to the sugar – avoiding that it should it be too thin and watery. Add the honey; and should you wish to add a different scent, a drop or two of an essential oil such as vanilla or lavender can be added. Store the mixture in a container with a lid that seals well.
Salt Scrub Recipe: Salt and Olive Oil
•1 Cup of sea salt (or any coarse salt)
•Olive Oil
With the above combination, any other variations can be made to personalize the scrub, including:
Basic Scrub Mix
1/2 cup wheatgerm
1/4 cup fine oatmeal
1 tablespoon rice flour
Combine ingredients and store in an airtight jar.
When you want to use homemade body scrubs just put 2 tablespoons in a bowl and mix it with a wet ingredient to make a gritty paste.
Use one or more of any of the following wet ingredients; natural yoghurt, milk, cream, honey, egg yolk, fruit
This scrub is gentle enough to use on your face as well as your body, just ensure the grains are very fine.
Mediterranean Delight
Ingredients;
2 tablespoons sea salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 drops lemon essential oil (optional)
Chocoholic Heaven
